humble as a blade of grass
This class builds heat with some balancing postures at the beginning and then ends up cooling down with a deep pranayama practice to slide us in to savasana and meditation. Appropriate for all levels, share the link and practie with a friend. We are inspired by the tolerance of a tree. A tree will stand in the scorching sun to give shade to others. A tree will bear the freezing cold of the winter and give wood to create heat for all. A tree will silently give up even its life for someone to build a comfortable house with. That is tolerance.
Who is a great personality? One who is more tolerant than a tree. This may seem impossible, but it is actually our nature. Where there is love, spiritual love, there is unlimited tolerance and humility.
at the beginning of the class we chant:
yaṁ hi na vyathayanty ete
puruṣaṁ puruṣarṣabha
sama-duḥkha-sukhaṁ dhīraṁ
so ’mṛtatvāya kalpate
The person who is not disturbed by happiness and distress and is steady in both is certainly eligible for liberation.
This class was recorded from my home as a Zoom call, from CA and around the globe. I call out the whole class and partially demonstrated (it was a video call). During a time while we are mainly staying at home, let us stay connected through practice and reverence. Join along and breathe with us.
