compassion in a time of crisis

sometimes we must turn inward in order to truly show up for others. this class is a refreshing dynamic flow, with a hypnotic soundtrack. we move deep in to shoulders and hips, kurmasana is the peak posture. a block will be helpful.
yoga practices are designed to help one develop compassion, and by means of compassion dissolve the illusion of otherness and all the prejudices that arise from that polarity. as a person exercises compassion as a practice, they get better at it, and and the result is they grow into humility, a direction away from selfish ego concerns.

at the beginning of the class we chant:

VASTU-SĀMYE CITTA-BHEDĀT TAYOR VIBHAKTAḤ PANTHĀḤ

EACH INDIVIDUAL PERSON PERCEIVES THE SAME OBJECT IN A DIFFERENT WAY, ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN STATE OF MIND AND PROJECTIONS. EVERYTHING IS EMPTY FROM ITS OWN SIDE AND APPEARS ACCORDING TO HOW YOU SEE IT. (PYS 4.15)

This class was recorded from my home as a Zoom call, from CA and around the globe. I call out the whole class and partially demonstrated (it was a video call). During a time while we are mainly staying at home, let us stay connected through practice and reverence. Join along and breathe with us.
