🌿Join Vrinda for a very special Saturday, Jivamukti XL!
Saturday, August 10th
9:00 - 11: 00 am ° Telegraph
Vrinda is leading us through an extend Jivamukti open class and satsang; study and discussion centered around modern application of Yoga's ancient and esoteric teachings.
Jivamukti Yoga is a creative and powerful yoga method practiced in the Vinyasa style. The body postures (asanas) are strung together in connection with the breath in energetically meaningful sequences. Practicing the asanas, Sanskrit chanting, music, meditation, studying the ancient yogic scriptures and relaxation, make Jivamukti Yoga a holistic practice, which makes the energies vibrate on different levels. To create an inspiring teaching, the asana sequences are varied, musically underlaid and always different.
The Open XL Class is an opportunity for Vrinda’s weekly community to go deeper, all practitioners seeking to deepen their practice are welcome. Creative and challenging asana sequences will be shared, an understanding of the basic asanas as well as a good body awareness are recommended. Nevertheless, variations are taught so that everyone can practice at their own level.
An opportunity to develop deeper connections with our community, sat means ‘truth” and anga means “attachment,” so the word satsang means “to be attached to the truth”. Traditionally satsang meant to keep the company of the enlightened, to spend time with your guru or a saint or to make pilgrimage to a holy place where a saint may have lived or taught. Of course it is not always possible to live 24/7 with a saint, so the practice of satsang involves gathering around sacred text and community.
